Chelsea plan to reward Thiago Silva with new contract


Chelsea are reportedly planning to extend Thiago Silva's contract until June 2022, having been impressed by the centre-back's performances during the current season.

Thiago Silva arrived at Stamford Bridge last August after leaving Paris Saint German after 8 years due to the expiration of his contract

Silva has been a regular for the Blues during the 2020-21 campaign, making 27 appearances in all competitions, including 19 in the Premier League (Stats from TransferMarkt)

Silva is 'very happy' at Stamford Bridge, while both Thomas Tuchel and the Chelsea's board 'appreciate' the South American and are set to extend his contract.

Arsenal are in desperate need of a central midfielder due to not having much depth in centre of the pitch.  In the last days, Arsenal have been started talks to sign former FC Barcelona midfielder Arthur Melo from Juventus.
